Austria

After Germany, i was off to Austria for one evening. the city of Innsbruck is such a beautiful place, and that night it was snowing romantically as i walked the old streets. It was such a charming city that was rich in Germanic flair and history. Along one of my walks, i came across this bronze plaque on the wall of arch that covered an old street. It looked like it could have come out of an old fable written by the Brothers Grimm...

First sight...

The next morning, we headed off to town Dachau, to the site of one of the most well known concentration camps during the reign of the Nazis. It was disturbing just walking into the museum, and visually absorbing the conditions that these prisoners had to live under. After the tour of the barracks, I had to get some air and walked around the grounds. this was the view of one the entrances to the camp, and would have been what each prisoner had to see each day as they left their barracks to the "work" that they had been conscribed to do.

Chilling...
