double take

you know one of those moments where you do a double take and ask yourself if you really did see what you just saw?

the second guy from the left...DOESN'T HE LOOK LIKE ME!?!? from a side profile? look again...i sure think so and it was kinda freaky actually. its not everyday you (think) see your face on anywhere else but in the mirror.

then i decided to blow up the picture

...but then i wasn't so sure anymore....

but that top photo...sent chills up my spine. those of you who know me well, will understand why.

isn't that kind of a picture(pardon the pun) of what life is like sometimes? you're so dead sure about a perspective, and you may even believe it to be passionate about it.

then upon closer observation, its not quite what you thought it was. even though, its not like the previous opinion was dead out wrong, its just changed or evolved.

i'm awarding my very first KUDO to the person who can guess what I could be applying the above in my personal life to. its the first ever here at pilgrims progress, and would probably be best guessed by someone who's actually spoken with me in the last little while. of course, some of you are psychic as well, so go ahead and guess, it'll be fun.

the winner will be awarded their well deserved KUDO on no better day than Christmas Day. first to guess most accurately by Christmas wins. of course, if no one says anything by Christmas, cos they actually have something to do (unlike me), then we might extend it longer.

um, WIERD. that far off shot DOES look like you, but upon closer examination, not so much. i i think it's the cheekbones, nose and jaw that did it.

to me, sure looks like a picture of a FIREFIGHTER who seeks to save the lost and dying. but as you mentioned, perhaps the typical characteristics of this FIREFIGHTER has evolved and changed into another occupation that shares similar traits.

just a thot

Nancy gets a half kudo. My time in NY was focussed directly on a music pastor position. through that experience, i learnt a lot about what why i enjoy music. I am involved with music because I enjoy working with people and in teams - not necessarily because I love music (like some of my other friends who i consider TRUE musicians). I'm not a musician, I'm a leader. Of course, this process really started earlier last year, when my whole perspective of church worship has been turned around. the answer to the kudo question is: my view towards music, and Nancy gets a half kudo, because in NY, thats all i did for 70 hours a week. Congratulations Nancy! woohoo!
