the Return

No its not a title of a dvd that just came out, its the return of author of this blogger, who has gone MIA for far too long. I'm thinking a lot of you might have tuned out of my blog by now, but if you are still part of the faithful who are checking in. Hello!

well, i've been extremely busy since i returned to vancouver, what with adjusting to a new position working long hours and also planning for my upcoming wedding in New Brunswick.

I'm writing to tell you about two new developments. Firstly. Cheryl and I bought a car! my 1992 honda civic which so faithfully took me across the continent, coast to coast, and back...finally died on me a couple of weeks ago. it basically had a bunch of repairs that had to be done at the same time, and it was going to cost more than it was worth. So i sold it cheap and Cheryl and I searched high and low for the best option. we were actually really close to buying a new car, a Nissan Versa to be exact, but with advice and hard thinking we realised that it would be wiser to buy a newer used vehicle instead. A couple weeks after our decision, we are feeling more and convicted that we made the right choice. we are loving and appreciating our car more each day and are thankful that we owe the banks $10,000 less. woo hoo. here are a couple of shots to show you. its a 2003 Mazda Protege 5 hatchback. its niiice.

Secondly, i would like to introduce to you Cheryl, my future wife. In the days and weeks to come, Cheryl will be a contributor to this blog, and we will likely see a lot of her friends visit and they might even leave a comment or two! it will be a wonderful meeting of East meets West. For all of Cheryl's friends who are tuning in for the first time....Welcome to OUR blog!

by the way, i realised the East meets West thing might mean a couple of things. like East(asian) meets West(caucasian), lol! but i actually mean, the West Coast of Canada where i grew up and the East Coast where Cheryl grew up.

tee hee.

I expect that we will be writing in this blog in likely lesser frequency than I had been writing before while doing my masters. This year, we have a lot going on where I'm hoping to finish off my thesis and adjusting to married life. One of our priorities will be to continue sharing in our passion for travel, so we will for sure keep you guys updated on our travels. But daily work and life in and out, probably won't be that interesting and thus there might be less to talk about. of course, this blog will also be a great avenue for us to vent, or just talk about life and whats been on our minds lately. we hope to make time for that kind of stuff. its always good to have time to reflect and i probably haven't done much of it in the past few months since i've been back in BC.

keep in touch. this blog is still alive.
