delay

I'm gonna apologise, i promised photos from my last road trip but my computer still hasn't gotten up to speed yet. i had brought my old windows 98 laptop with me this trip to donate to India when i got there, but it looks like i'm making good use of it now, in lieu of my mac. i don't really believe in luck, but i always get shafted, the one rarity that goes wrong with anything happens with me. like a few years ago, when i bought my first car, within the first month, the ignition switch blew out on me. who's ever heard of an ignition switch breaking down? and then when i got my other car, the fuel pump konked out. apparently for hondas, that almost never happens.

so yea, i'm back at things at the 'port. its been pretty stressful. work in new jersey was great, you come to work, things are fairly predictable, you do it. sure days might get kinda long but its good. since i've been back i've encountered one after another of unforeseen issues. here are a couple examples:

the dates of my india classes have changed to jan 5-25th now. as opposed to the original 9-28th. and its too late to change the flights, i've having problem after another finding a place to stay since i've been back. i had a bed and dinner booked for this saturday, and i thought i had sorted out my living with other people. but things keep changing. thankfully a neighbour just moved out, so i'm sleeping in their empty apartment right now. its not that bad, and it was better than trying to squeeze into a small two bedroom apartment in the living room

so yea, thats my week so far. when i get my computer back, i'll post those pictures. actually when i think about the pics, i think half of them are pictures of food. i should be a food critic or food photographer or something. I dunno there's something about food that helps me learn and appreciate a culture and new place better.

Another Top Ten

This was the amazing view that welcomed me back into Saskatchewan...

So as i ponder about life in the past week that i've been travelling, i feel compelled once again to compile a top ten list of unranked items that will stay close to me as I move forward in life. my experience in new jersey was life changing and will continue to shape my outlook on life and ministry in the years to come. I am so very grateful to Chris High, for welcoming me into his family (both personal and church), and teaching me so much more than just about revolutionary ministry philosophies but also about what it means to be a man of God who loves his family.

TOP TEN UNRANKED THINGS ABOUT THE EAST COAST

-Lori High's cooking. amongst many delicious dishes my top favourites were her roast ham (seriously, this wasn't a packaged boneless ham you find in the supermarket, it was literally a leg of ham, and it was amazing.), lemon meringue and pumpkin pies and roast beef. mmm...

-Sharing pretty much every new experience with Ericka High, like driving into NJ or going into the city, or watching live jazz.

-the musicals...oh the musicals! it was so great...

-Yankees game.

-Times Square...wow

-Canadiens and Islanders at the Bell centre

-Montreal food

-Montreal architecture and culture

-Boston seafood and the life in the city - loved it

-Lyle and guests at the bed and breakfast in Vermont

I'm sorta settled back in Caronport now, so its hard studying for the next couple of months. i have 3 courses to finish up and another 3 to prep for in india. i just found out that i'm staying for Christmas(because of blockbuster), so i'll be back in BC after Christmas.

in the next few days, i'm going to update my boston and montreal blogs below and add photos. so come back and check em out.
